Wit conveys the story of Dr. Vivian Bearing, recognized English literature scholar, narrating her own eight month chronicle of treating and succumbing to ovarian cancer.  Vivian has spent years studying and teaching the Holy Sonnets of the metaphysical poet John Donne. Vivian approaches cancer with reviewing her own life by deciphering the language used around her, especially the use of wit.
